First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
In December of 2017 (which was only last week really), I was in Lagos Nigeria for the Christmas holidays. My family live there and for those who may not know, I grew up there until I was 17. (I should probably do a get to know me tag, leave a comment if you’d like to see one)
In the months leading up to my holiday I had earmarked a number of restaurants I wanted to visit and was really looking forward. I ended up visiting only two, but that’s a story for another day.
In those months, I thought about holding a brunch event in Lagos but was very anxious as TRP Brunch Club had only just made its debut in London. “Who would come?” , “I don’t know Lagos that well”, “It won’t work”. These were just some of the thoughts going through my head when I was thinking about it. I’m so grateful to have encouraging friends and readers of TRP who motivate me constantly (you know yourselves). Long story short, I decided to feel the fear and do it anyway! (I’m sure that’s a quote I’ve just nicked).
The event was hosted at the beautiful Craft Gourmet by Lou Baker. Lou and Tarek (the owners) were gracious every step of the way; from discussing the menu and setting a price to the service on the day. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend. The restaurant is also beautifully decorated. The food did take a little time to prepare but I believe every dish was made fresh so it’s a small price to pay I guess.
A massive thank you to the beautiful people who came, it wouldn’t have happed without you ❤️
Here are the highlights of the time that TRP Brunch Club went to Lagos.
If you’re in Lagos or visiting, you should make a trip to Craft Gourmet, you won’t regret it.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Wishing you all the best for 2018!
Until next time,
p.s. In which city should TRP Brunch Club pop-up next?
